Discussion on Manacled and Fan Fiction
Speaker 1Because you know, yeah, because obviously there's another horcrux. Anyway, okay, Jay, what were parts that you hated of Manacled?
Speaker 2Parts that I hated of Manacled or loved.
Speaker 1I can't remember one other question. I asked what did you love, what did you hate?
Speaker 2No, it's a complicated relationship. I get it.
Speaker 3They're the same answer, honestly, mostly.
Speaker 1Honestly okay.
Speaker 2My favorite chapter by far is Hi, this is Chanel.
Speaker 4Hi, this is Stacey, hey, nerds, this is Ashley and this is Fanfic Fanatics.
Speaker 1Do you like to be? How about I just? Do you like to be called Jay?
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1Okay, all right, I was like. I know your name is Jason, I just wanted to double check, okay okay, welcome everybody.
Speaker 4We have a very special episode today. We have a special guest, jay, and he is. We found him on TikTok. His handle is hey, I'm Jay, and he read Manacled for the first time and if you have not watched his TikToks about his reactions, they're epic and I feel like everybody who's read this book can relate to it. So you have to check them out. And he's in today.
Speaker 1Ashley, you need to specifically take credit for that, because you sent it to us and then I didn't watch his videos for the longest time because I was currently reading Manacled as well, but you didn't want spoilers. Yeah, I didn't want spoilers yeah, so you get credit for finding him.
Speaker 4But yeah, he's like it's amazing Welcome.
Speaker 1Welcome yeah.
Speaker 2Thank you, it's good to be here.
Speaker 1Hey, yeah, yeah, okay, so we can do some Get to Know you questions for Jay. Okay, so obviously we know that you read Manacled, but do you or have you read any other fan fiction? Do you write at all fan fiction?
Speaker 2Yeah, so my wife is definitely the one that kind of converted me over into the whole fan fiction space. I've never read any fanfic before Manacled, but the very last TikTok I made after I was done reading it I asked all the viewers about any recommendations for future fanfics and I got an overwhelming amount of Dramani fanfic recommendations.
Speaker 3I'm sure you did, so yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah, I think I'm going to keep reading some, just because I think I'm converted. I really like the Harry Potter universe, so being able to just dive in a little bit deeper is actually a lot of fun. Yeah, so I think I'll dive into that a little bit more. But yeah, I've never written, I've never read anything else before for this book.
Speaker 4I cannot believe Manacled was your first.
Speaker 3I swear, that's what I was going to say, which is great because I think it's probably the most popular. It's so well written, it's such a great one. But to me I'm always like, oh my gosh, I can't imagine starting in that, that beast being the first thing that the fan fiction.
Speaker 2That's what was great to me out too, because reading all the comments they're just like oh power to you Good luck. Never read it. It's like, oh shoot, what is this book?
Speaker 1So long, it's so dark, it's just, it's intense, like I literally finished it yesterday and I've been texting Ashley and Stacey, even though I'm like I've read fan fiction for the last 10 years. Ok, let's make this about me right now. You do it, chanel, so I started at the same time you did. You started like late summer, september, right, reading it, jay, and I read the first part and then I had to take a break after the beginning because it was so dark. I did too when I read it Smart honestly.
Speaker 1A month. I took a month break and then I came back and read half of the flashbacks, again took a month break and I just finished the last half of the of the thing. And I'm giving you credit, jay, because after I finished, like I would read about five chapters and then I'd watch one of your TikToks. I just I just started watching them. I caught up and I was like let me see if he has the same reactions I do, because I had never read Vietnogl before and we, we had similar reactions, except when I would cry after something. You were very manly and you would just be like you know.
Speaker 4I would come to.
Speaker 1I would watch the TikToks and I still have to your tracks and you and you're just like you with your goggles on.
Speaker 2Oh yeah, my eye surgery goggles. That was a fun phase.
Speaker 1You were like, okay, well, I think he's feeling the same emotions as me, but he's a little. He's holding it in a little better. But so it was. It was good you pushed me through the last three days for me to get through this thick. But but yeah, literally I would like read five chapters and be like how does Jay feel about this? So I feel like, let me find out a pair of social relationship with you.
Speaker 2Nice, nice. I'm glad I could drag you through the depression a little bit more.
Speaker 1So, so yeah, I finished it and then yesterday, like I said, I texted Ashley and Stacy and I'm like I have no more like moisture in my body because I can't see you. I had such a headache. I just laid on the couch for like 10 hours because it was so depressing. Is that how you felt after you finished it? Like, were you just like exhausted from?
Speaker 2Yeah, like. Yeah, I mean they talk about like book fatigue or like what's it called. It's like a book hangover. Yeah, this was this was on a whole new level, because it's like I just I was kind of in denial. Honestly, I was like that's not the end. There's more. That's it.
Speaker 1I'm glad it kind of ended on a positive note, though, like I, like it I did Okay, okay, okay Because.
Speaker 2I thought it was going to be a lot worse. To be fair, yeah.
Speaker 3So when I first read it, yeah, I thought it was going to be a lot worse at the end.
Speaker 4Well, I like to think okay, I definitely cried that last sentence, but yeah, I was so mad I like wanted to throw the book when I read that last sentence.
Speaker 1No, I was, yeah, I was like devastated obviously, but I feel like a positive note. I just like to think that, like Aurora and James have like a cute little romance going like that they do.
Speaker 3There's another epilogue, didn't you read it?
Speaker 4No, there is.
Speaker 3Yeah, there's another epilogue that she wrote about James and Aurora.
Speaker 1Oh, I didn't even see that. I didn't see that in a long time.
Speaker 4Yeah, you didn't tell anybody. Stacy, we're talking about manacles. You haven't told anybody.
Speaker 1I'll tell you guys, okay, okay, I didn't even see that, but that's what I'm like. Okay, they have a happily ever. After the two little kids which I kind of like called in my head, I was like the second they're on this island and like they have a baby and there's James and like the kids are getting together but whatever. And then I think honestly, when you're reading this book and they kept talking about running away, like what future would they have had together? You know what I mean at the end, right, I know you just like can't get over it.
Speaker 4I just like trust nothing with this book. If it's happy, I'm like something terrible's happened.
Speaker 1It's not like Hermione.
Speaker 4It's just going to be terrible by the end of it. I'm serious, like I read that last page and I was like this is crazy, this whole book, and this is the last sentence.
Speaker 1I mean, what kind of future could they have had? That's, the best they could have had is living on an island by themselves.
Speaker 4I meant just the book that was written and her not getting any credit. Yeah, their life is fine, I guess, on an island.
Speaker 1I mean yeah, but I mean they couldn't have. I mean you wanted her to freaking, be a war hero and get all this accolades.
Speaker 4Yes, I did.
Speaker 1I mean, yes, perfect world, but like that couldn't have happened, I mean, anyway, okay, let's get back to Jay.
Speaker 3She's going to Chanel finish it so recently.
Speaker 4Last night. Last night she can't. Yeah, I think she has a problem.
Speaker 2I think for a solid week after, when it's fresh in your mind. It's like I'll just bring it up with my wife. Like I just bring it up with her and she's like do you think? Like you think they're happy.
Speaker 4Just out of nowhere, randomly.
Speaker 1You think she still has PTSD right now. You think she's a therapy? Yeah, yeah, okay. So what is your favorite Harry Potter book and or your favorite Harry Potter movie?
Speaker 2Okay, it's a book. I always liked the Death Eaters, like I was. I was a big fan of Voldemort and that whole. I wish I could dive in more into that stuff when I was reading the Harry Potter books. So I think six is my favorite Half Blood Prince because we get a little bit more into Voldemort's past and that's that always intrigued me a lot.
Speaker 1Nice.
Speaker 2Nice, that was fun.
Speaker 1Is that your favorite movie?
Speaker 2Movie wise, I think. Actually I think it's the eighth movie, the Deathly House, part two, because, like there's one scene in particular that actually did bring me to tears with my wife, and it's when Harry's about to get sacrificed himself and Hermione like croaks out like oh, let me come with you. I was like damn it.
Exploring OTPs and Fanfiction
Speaker 1Okay, my heart Gets ya, gets ya, all right. All right, nice, okay, good choices. Yeah for sure what is your favorite. This is OTP, which is your one true pairing, like couple that you, I mean it might be Germany, now that you're, you're into fanfare.
Speaker 3It can be any universe you want, but yeah, a lot of them are Harry Potter.
Speaker 2Yes, I'm not going to lie. I actually had to Google what the, what OTP was.
Speaker 4I didn't know what it was. When we started this podcast, I didn't know any of these terms. They had to explain them all to me.
Speaker 1I was like we were going to explain that If you asked your wife you should have just asked your wife.
Speaker 2I did and right away she was like oh, one true pairing Obvious.
Speaker 4Obviously.
Speaker 1I was like, did you ask her what hers was? I was like she would have told you really.
Speaker 2I should have actually been asked her what your pairing was.
Speaker 3Yeah, I know it'd be interesting if it was the same. Yeah, that'd be cool to know. Yeah.
Speaker 2But so I spent some time thinking about this a little bit and and in books I've never really thought about like pairing people and my OTP, I guess is it's about a show. After the last airvender I was obsessed with that and Zuko Zuko and Katara Zuko and Katara yes, you and Chanel are going to be best friends.
Speaker 1You know why? Because it's this trope which is enemies to lovers, which is what Germany, which is what Germany is. It's when you hate each other and then, by the end, you love each other. Yet, oh man.
Speaker 2You already hate each other. That is the best trope in romance books. I've got to say, enemies to lovers is a massacre for what we got. Yes, we love that.
Speaker 1I'm trying to get Stacey and Ashley to watch Avatar, the Last Airvender, because there's some great. I haven't seen it, I know.
Speaker 4What Stacey? Why haven't you seen it? Stacey's into stuff like that.
Speaker 3I've seen some of it. I don't know why I haven't finished, like I don't know Just now. There's a lot. I follow a lot of artists. I follow a lot of fan artists who do a lot of their pairing, like drawing. So I see a lot of it and I know there's a lot of great fan fiction. But yeah, I haven't finished it yet.
Speaker 1So you need to. There's a live action movie coming up right now and they're putting out all the promo for it, so that's a great pairing, great pairing. Okay, jay, can you get into kind of? You talked about it briefly, how you got into like fan fiction, manacled, started reading it and then why you started posting your reaction.
Speaker 2So, okay, all of this revolves around my wife, pretty much Okay, but basically my wife. You know, my wife has dabbled in fanfic in the past. When she was back in middle school, high school, she wrote some One Direction fanfic.
Speaker 3I love her and I want to meet her.
Speaker 1I want to see her in one direction. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah and stuff.
Speaker 2And then over the summer, on TikTok, she discovered those POV TikToks where it's like small little scenario you read the POV of like every character in Harry Potter and she was like obsessed. Like every time I look over, she just POV TikTok. So she started writing POV TikToks at that point, but she found herself always going straight to Draco's POV. Every single time she was just like I only care about Draco and George, that's it. And then Eventually the POVs wasn't enough. She's like no, I need, I need more, need more Draco.
Speaker 2So that's when she dipped her toe into actually Reading fanfic like full-on, full-on stories, which Evidently, since manacles, is like the most popular fanfic of all time, I guess she. She read that and immediately was like Jay, you gotta read this. I just got to. So and the reason I started filming tick-tocks was because when I would read, I would read a chapter and like or I'd finish reading for the day and I'd go talk to her and she'd just immediately be like no, walk me through everything, just tell me what you were thinking. Do that? She's like okay, just film yourself, I'll make a tick-tock.
Speaker 1Yeah, I was good to see. So, like she was on some of like your big, your Ticktocks in the background is kind of like interacting with with you and stuff, and yeah, that was those are great ones too. I liked your interactions where she was like oh, it's like Making me rethink some scenes or whatever. So I like that. But okay, cool, cool. This is a good question, ashley. I liked you were like what were some of the craziest like messages or reactions that you had gotten on On your tick-tock, like since posting it, like can you remember any either? Good, good rex, that you've gotten Since you post in?
Speaker 2Yeah, people were. I loved reading the comments because people are. People love this book a lot.
Speaker 4They were in your comments.
Speaker 2Message is like so I still get comments like I. I haven't read all of them still, because it's like there's a lot Just deep nested. Nothing there, but my favorite one by far. Okay, there's the two that I got. Most common Before the eye surgery, I guess is that I look like James Potter. It's just like James Potter reading manacle.
Speaker 1Okay, so that is Ashley's favorite. Character, all time that's probably why she found you. Sorry, I'm a remiss girl, but oh. Wow, that clicked in all of our heads.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 1I did. Okay, what was the other ones?
Speaker 2another one was there's there's life before manacle, that and life after manacle, and yeah, pretty much.
Speaker 4Randomly think about it. I read it like last year and still randomly I'll be like oh, I'm still angry about this.
Speaker 3Yeah, it was just so like I just love when you're reading the last page and you kept like rereading it. I was just like I need you to understand that I read this book in three days on my cell phone and I can remember it being like 4 am and I was in bed and I just kept like scrolling like that too and I was like wait what you read it in three days.
Speaker 3I have a problem. I told you when I started stuff like I have to finish it. Yeah, I read it like three days and my little phone, and then I just kept doing the same like he did. I just kept looking at it. I was like, but what is happening?
Speaker 2That's impressive. This is a thick book.
Speaker 4Stacey's insane.
Speaker 1Yeah, I know God. How are you guys twins?
Speaker 3Very different reading styles, for sure.
Speaker 4It took me six months I had. I took long breaks. It was so dark.
Speaker 3I wanted Ashley to read it. So bad she was like one of the first books I ever made.
Speaker 4I was like you need to read this like she bound it for me, gave it to me so I'd read it and I just was like I can't finish it. It's too depressing.
Speaker 3I want you to share my pain.
Speaker 2I think that's why people keep sharing this book Because they want to suffer too. I need people to feel my pain.
Speaker 1Okay, so you said your wife obviously has run manacled. Has she read other fanfics as she like, talked to you or recommended other ones for you to read?
Speaker 2One, one fanfic that she I think it's one of the first ones that she read. It's, I think, it's called a secret place. It's not finished, which drives her insane, because the author went through some questionable actions and then stopped writing. She was. That was a fanfic that she read constantly, like literally. We'd go on a walk with the dog. She'd be on her phones reading it while we were walking. I'm just gonna let you in the world there for a little bit, but play by play of the whole story.
Speaker 2Okay, yeah, you read it. Yeah, it's funny because originally she wasn't looking for Jermaine specifically because she she likes the the stuff where it's just an unknown character. You can insert yourself into the role.
Speaker 4Yeah, I like those.
Speaker 2Those are my favorite, yeah you're not stuck in a shipment. I guess you're kind of yeah, yeah, yeah, those are some of my.
Speaker 1I. I got Stacy and Ashley into those two.
Speaker 3Yeah, cuz I hadn't read one before, chanel, I didn't even know that was a thing until you, until you, chanel.
Speaker 4Yeah, that would be one.
Speaker 1It's like they're called like a reader fic. Is that what? That's what I call them. But yeah, it's like you feel like it's you and Loki.
Speaker 4That's Chanel's OTP, her and Loki.
Speaker 1Speaking of happy birthday, loki, anyway, birthday, yeah, I mean, I guess it could be whatever if you Google it. Okay so I want to, since I was going through your tiktok this morning and I was crying, laughing, I wanted to To point out a few of my favorite quotes that you said while while reading. Okay, here's some of my favorite quotes. Okay, this book is making me a pessimist, yeah.
Speaker 4I felt that too.
Discussion on Fanfiction Recommendations and Preferences
Speaker 1Okay also. This. This was a good one, which I kind of want to go come back to, but you're like she swallows anything without asking questions, like why would her money?
Speaker 1Why would you swallow this potion without asking any questions? Okay, that may be really mad. Okay, um, this is when you were starting the audiobook. You're like. I am listening with caution. Oh yeah, um, I just feel icky when they use Draco as a tool. I Do, too. I Don't know what. Where this story is going Again. Draco, my boy Draco, is so freaking cool and they are making unbreakable, unbreakable, sorry, hold up. They're using unbreakable vows and they're flying left and right over here.
Speaker 4That's so true, I have a lot to say about the unbreakable vows.
Speaker 3What hero.
Speaker 1So I was like these quotes are amazing. I have to point these out. But, yeah, my biggest thing is, I was like why would she drink this? I feel like for being so smart, being a healer, why would you drink this potion? And without knowing what it is? And clearly it Did not go well. Yeah, that was my biggest thing.
Speaker 2So, anyway, this is what the what, the beginning of draft or whatever. Yeah.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, yeah, yes.
Speaker 2Yeah, she downed that sucker quick.
Speaker 1Yes, and then, yeah, same with, like you said, the unbreakable vows which, um, like obviously in your, your video. But I feel like the same way. I was like it like took me a few rereads to be like what's happening, and then I was like, oh, it's all clicking together, like this is how he gets away, this is how he's able to become the high reeve and like be cleared of or like not get caught right, like that, that was her plan, is because she, she was like two steps ahead of him, right, and she made this extra unbreakable vow and whatever. Yeah, it was so hard to keep track of by.
Speaker 2I feel like everyone had an unbreakable vow with someone at some point. Yeah, I know that. Yeah, and I think, correct me from wrong. If you break it, you die. Is that the thing, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's like I was always like is someone just gonna like? Drop dead. Yeah, yeah, break a vow yeah.
Speaker 1Yeah, because they like backstab someone else. They didn't know that.
Speaker 2Yeah, I'm gonna keep track of how many there were, yeah.
Speaker 1I know, um, okay, uh, ashley, did you have a wreck? Did you or anyone have any wrecks? Are we like reading anything? Watching anything?
Speaker 4Yeah, I'm reading something big.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 4I finally, I finally started aqatar. Oh, I'm so proud. Oh nice, okay, you've been harping on me this, on this, for like a year. I'm so impressed.
Speaker 3I am very impressed.
Speaker 1I love it. Do you know this series? This is another really popular series.
Speaker 2This is a court of thorns and roses right.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Okay, before you page on, tiktok is just a bunch of like romance fantasy books.
Speaker 4I do have to say to backup. I have to say that I love that everybody recommended Draco Malfoy and the mortifying ordeal of being in love with you. It is the best fake to read after this no no. No, no, no, no, it's so fluffy. There's not a fluffier fake to read after this. No, so what I was going?
Speaker 1to wreck. This is my wreck. Okay, this is my wreck. Listen, I was gonna say my wreck for him is the right thing to do because, yes, okay thank you.
Speaker 4No, I don't know, because his wife will like it because there's a draco-malfoy point of view story. Yes, that goes with it.
Speaker 1Yes, and because it's. It's like fluffy-ish and you get draco's point of view and then he can read the alternate universe, which is the auction which.
Speaker 3I think he has his soul ripped out again, again.
Speaker 1And it's very, it's very similar to manacle. So you get back into which he clearly likes the war, the war kind of Fick, right. So I think you need to do the right thing to do is the next fic, dramani fic you need to read. It's Obviously draco and hermene, but it's basically if the war went right and harry won. It's draco, you know, doing his own thing and obviously Him and hermene come together and it's like it's enemies to lovers in a In a Positive universe.
Speaker 2If that makes a non depressing way.
Speaker 4Pretty much yes, but in a cute way and then, and everybody's still alive, so that's nice yeah.
Speaker 1But there's definitely underlying themes of like betrayal and manipulation, like there's a good plot to it, and then you get draco's point of view of like this under plot, of like Some bad stuff, and then you do, like I said, the the next story, the third story. There's three stories Her point of view, his point of view and then the alternate universe. The alternate universe is when Voldemort wins. It's impressive and that is very similar to manacled.
Speaker 1Not as dark, not as dark, not as dark, but it's dark and it's. It's called the auction and essentially, did hear the auction several times.
Speaker 2Yes, in the comments and not to brag hermene's auctioned to draco.
Speaker 4We had that author on and she's amazing.
Speaker 1Yeah, it's so well written, so that's what you need to read that trilogy, that trilogy.
Speaker 3You know Chanel, so decided I'm chalice.
Speaker 4That's the next one you have to see, say see, which one do you think is better? Treat after manacled like fluffy wise though.
Speaker 3I mean, it depends on your vibe, like chanels.
Speaker 1Trust me, draco, mouthway in the mortifier. That's like my favorite fic of all time, but I'm telling you, if he wants to stick with these like good vibes. He can go, it's still fluffy, and then he goes.
Speaker 3I'm neutral.
Speaker 2One, yeah, one book that, um, I was actually I was, so I was thinking about starting another reaction. I was literally going to pick up secrets and masks next.
Speaker 4Oh, I haven't read that yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah, okay, yeah, that's the one that my wife is currently reading. She picked it up and apparently, according to you know TikTok comments, which I'm taking as gospel. Now it's also in the vein of being pretty messed up, pretty dark, so I think, but I've never. I don't think I've ever come across the right thing to do. I've no way of the mortifying or being in love.
Speaker 4Yeah.
Speaker 2That one I've definitely got several of and the auction. But the right thing to do. I don't think I've come across that one yet.
Speaker 1Yeah that if you're going to do the auction, do the right thing to do you have to do it first.
Speaker 4That's the order.
Speaker 3That's the order to do it and it's not quite as long as like the other ones. It's not like such an undertaking to read but yeah, your wife's a champ, because Secret Samask is super dark too, like I have. I read half of it. I didn't finish it, I didn't. I did look up the ending because you know I have no self control. But I mean people love, either love that one or they hate it. But I it is very dark too, so like yeah, make.
Speaker 1Are you saying he shouldn't read it?
Speaker 3No, no, no, I'm not saying that at all Like one of the, but like should he read it.
Speaker 1next we're just going to play in this all out for you.
Speaker 2Okay, it just depends what kind of thing, I got my next year. I'm writing this down.
Speaker 3It's like would I tell, would I tell Ashley or Chanel to immediately read it after Manicold? No, because they get so in a in a great way. Like, as you're such emotional readers as me, then the stuff I read, what did I read it immediately after? Like, yeah, I would, I would read it after another because I want to be hurt again. You know what I mean.
Speaker 2Like I'm used to the pain I need to feel the pain.
Speaker 4That's amazing, Stacey. I don't want to feel it. I like the right thing to do. It's so happy, yeah, yeah, oh, my gosh, and pansies in it, so it's good.
Speaker 3Yeah, there's good pansy arc in that one. Yeah, there's good side characters. Whereas Manicold is very much focused as we all for now, very much focused on her money and Draco, and so was more to find a deal, I will say the right thing to do and stuff, there's a lot of great side character development in her series, which is I love side characters, so it's great.
Speaker 2That is nice, yeah, but I do wish in Manicold it's already long enough, so I wish that we did get a little bit more into like how some order members were, because Ron actually interested me quite a bit. He didn't piss me off as much as other order members did.
Speaker 3Yeah, that's Harry. Harry, you're just gonna smack him in that book.
Speaker 4What's wrong with you?
Opinions on Manicold Book
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, let's. So let's get into that. What are like your favorite parts of Manicold? What's your worst parts of Manicold?
Speaker 2Honestly, my, my, I hate, I hate gaslighting in books and it's like the order did it so much to her money.
Speaker 2And it's like I think that was kind of the buildup to the last line in the book where it's just like this whole, this whole ordeal, she's been going through a lot of shit and then last line is just icing on the cake of yep, you weren't, it wasn't part of it.
Speaker 2It's like, okay, that's, that's cool. So like Christmas, the Christmas scene actually okay, I don't know how I'm jumping all over the place, but the flashback that goes over Christmas at the Weasleys this was like this was a pretty. This is one I think about constantly actually, where it's like not only did Hermione or does you kind of get a look into like the darkness of the world with Arthur, which I think about a lot being trapped in your own head, like that's just, that's horrifying but also like Harry kind of stepping on Hermione's toes once again saying like hey, what's wrong with you? You don't hang out with us anymore, you don't do any of this stuff. You're like you're not helping. Really, it's like dude, if you knew how much she's doing like behind the scenes, stuff like that that's hard to read, but yeah.
Speaker 4I think that's my favorite reaction you had in one of your videos. You said that for the order being so concerned about doing the right thing, they had no problem selling Hermione and stuff like that. And I was like this is perfect. This is like pointing into words when I thought like they were doing horrible things, but they didn't think they were for some reason because it was Hermione. I don't know, it was bizarre, but that was a good point.
Speaker 1Well, and I think to Harry's credit, he didn't know, like I mean Moody and Kingsley, they kind of they like sheltered him so much. So I mean I'm not that I'm a fan of Harry in the story, but like I think they they kept him in the dark about a lot. Clearly, I mean you didn't even fucking know he had a kid until the end of the, the end of the like right up to the end. But you know what I mean, they kept him in the dark. So he really did think like 100%, I was a good guy. You know what I mean and so you know.
Speaker 1I guess it just goes to show like everyone's kind of morally gray, right, but but I mean, I agree, I agree it sucks. Like how can you? You play both sides of the fence, right, like we're the good guys, but hey, we're also kind of shady and and stuff like that. I think about that and I think I talked about this in our last episode. Like my biggest thing was just Angelina being like oh, hermione, we're winning, we're doing the right thing. And she like, oh, they got her knee blown up or whatever. And she's like come on, like you don't really know what it's like out on the field.
Speaker 3And then it was right before the Christmas scene too, because I I read all the flashbacks that work yesterday so I'm like it's like real prime in my head.
Speaker 4You guys are crazy how you read that fast.
Speaker 1And then, but then you know, literally right at the beginning, she's like we should have listened to you, Like this is what you know, this is what you were talking about what would have happened, you know, if we, if we lost.
Speaker 1The other thing is I'm just like it's like the harp on Harry some more. I was just so pissed Like obviously in the actual books everything's tied up with a bow, like all the Horcrux were like destroyed by a blah before Harry went to go. You know, meet up, meet up with Voldemort. I was thinking in my head like how are you so stupid, harry, to like go into battle, like so Hermione does the diagnostic and is like hey, sorry, you're like entwined with Voldemort. You know you're going to have to die. And Harry clearly realizes this when I started crying and he's like I got to die, I got to go in there and I'm like, okay, harry, like I do feel free, man, like that sucks, but like wouldn't you like just take a fucking beat and be like you're so did we get all the Horcrux? Or I go and sacrifice myself, like let's just wait, let's count.
Speaker 2I love that actually is. I did have a similar reaction because, like I did, I did tear up a little bit when, when Harry did sacrifice himself, I was like, shoot especially. He knows he has a kid now.
Speaker 1I'm like, oh, that's rough, but also, yeah, I'm like like let's just double check, we got everything before I die. Like yeah. I was like how dumb are you dude? Like uh, anyway, that was just like my one thought thing real quick.
Speaker 3I, I felt bad from that scene too, but I forgot that. Like in that scene he tells her like he's sorry that she was pretty much right. The whole time Like, yeah, and I was like this motherfucker.
Speaker 4I know I was so annoyed when I read that. I'm like, cool, Like.
Speaker 3I'm glad you're listening now. I mean, you guys are everyone.
Speaker 1You guys are mean Like he did. He did regret he did regret for one second. It's funny because I actually I felt I was sympathetic for that. I cried, I was like okay, and then I was like you're eating it, you're just gonna run off Like you ruined all the bushes. My tears dried up real quick Because you know, yeah, because obviously there's another horcrux. Anyway, okay, jay, what were parts that you hated of Manacled?
Speaker 2Or loved.
Speaker 1I can't remember one other question. I asked what did you love? What did you?
Speaker 2hate. It's a complicated relationship. I get it.
Speaker 3They're the same answer, honestly.
Speaker 2Honestly okay. My my favorite chapter by far is flashback 27, which is when they go to rescue Ron and then Draco just walks over everybody. I was like, okay, this is, this is cool because not only this is kind of like the chapter where, if I'm going to convince my friends which is probably impossible to read Manacled this is probably the closest chapter that I could do or that I could explain or talk about that would get them to do it.
Speaker 1He's such a badass.
Speaker 2Yeah, this is where I'm like, maybe I'm in love with Draco.
Speaker 3Yeah, we all are.
Speaker 2It's like, it's just, it's so you really feel the emotion behind it, where it's like the fact that he, he cares about Hermione so much that he'll just literally walk over everybody who comes in his way without even thinking about it and does it in a cool way. I was like with the little bird things or whatever.
Speaker 4Yeah, yeah. Have you seen the fan art for that?
Speaker 2I've seen the. Was it Avendell? Yeah, yeah, that's so. It's great. That is some good art. I really like that.
Speaker 3That's like one of my favorite scenes. Like you said, he's just like so intense. I love that. Even Hermione and it said that like she didn't realize, like she knows that he's powerful and like deadly or whatever. And then when he does it, it just it does. It just seems so cool, Like I don't know, Like it's not even ever. He's just like murder so many people, Like when he sucks the people into the ground.
Speaker 2I know, I know, totally forgot about that.
Speaker 3He like turns it to the lava, or whatever they say. And then she just like makes the ground normal. And I was like, oh my God, it's insane, it's insane, I know. And then he was going to kill everyone. Remember, she's like please don't kill them, Like shoot. He was going to kill Harry and all of them and I was like oh yeah, it's just like I'm just go through this right now.
Speaker 1Gosh, I know, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2I think that flashback that's that's definitely stand out and that was very I don't know why, but in my TikToks, when I was in the car, I was like, I was like yelling. I was just in the parking lot waiting for my wife to come out of a hair point.
Speaker 4Yeah, I did love your change of scenery on some of your, just like it'd be bright and you're reading manacled. I'm like it needs to be more depressing when you're reading this.
Speaker 2The lights and candles, the candles that was my favorite.
Speaker 1No, those glasses, those like goggles sets.
Speaker 4No, we didn't even talk about it. You and the Taylor Swift merch reading it. Yeah, it was amazing.
Speaker 2I got. I got a lot of comments about the Taylor Swift merch. I bet. It's just like this man reads fanfic. He has Taylor Swift merch.
Speaker 3I was telling Chanel this he looks like James Potter.
Speaker 4I was telling Chanel this morning I was showing my husband some of your TikToks and like, look at this, he's wearing a Taylor Swift sweatshirt. He's like I went to the Taylor Swift concert with you.
Speaker 3Yeah, he actually said the same way. You're not wearing a sweatshirt.
Speaker 4Yeah.
Speaker 2I'm like, where is it?
Speaker 4He's like I don't even know where to get it. I'm like don't lie you know where to get it.
Speaker 3You know, Skyler.
Speaker 1Yeah, he was like. I stood in the rain for hours. He did Four hours.
Speaker 3He stood in the rain four hours with us to see Taylor Swift. He was so pumped. Nice, nice, that's awesome.
Speaker 2True champ right, there Right.
Speaker 1Right, okay. Do you have any final thoughts before we play this game, jay?
Speaker 4Final thoughts Would you read it again Looking back at it.
Speaker 2Am I glad that I read it? No, I said so.
Speaker 3No.
Speaker 2I'm a changed man, for the worst.
Speaker 4Yeah, you'll never be the same so alter.
Speaker 2Yeah, but honestly I'm actually very glad that, like my final thoughts on this, is it opened up a lot to fanfics in general. For me, writing is hard. It is. It is so difficult and even just taking something that exists, like the Harry Potter universe or whatever, and creating a good story out of it, that is not easy. So it's like reading this. It opened my eyes. I'm like you know what I got to dabble some more into this.
Speaker 1Yeah, there's some good authors there are, yes, like we said, the writer of like the auction and the right thing to do, which is what you're going to read next. We had her on our podcast this summer and she's now a published author.
Speaker 1She just did her first debut book, which is really good. Actually, we read it and yeah, it's like that was her first platform was to write like this whole series for for Germany, and then she, she got a book deal, so it's like it's a good way to like flex their writing muscles, so it's the right, it's props to them, to these writers. You can imagine Okay, so this is just a quick little game of like obviously you like to read, so it's just a quick, quick little like this or that, if like book version or whatever. So, okay, do you prefer audio books or like actual physical books, like holding physical books?
Speaker 2no-transcript. This is a big debate. Personally, I prefer physical books, but I don't shun audio books. I listen to audio books a lot still, but I do prefer sticking my face into actual texts and reading it. I feel more connected to it, I feel more in the world. But I do like audiobooks Like if I'm driving or doing the dishes.
Speaker 4Yeah, yeah, I don't know, but you need to listen to ET Alecco on Spotify.
Speaker 1Yeah, he did.
Speaker 4He listened to Manacled. Oh, was that the one on E? Oh, I forgot that they did yeah.
Speaker 2When I was blind, I had to keep going. That's right, that's right, his little art group His.
Speaker 1Ray.
Speaker 3Charles.
Speaker 1His Ray Charles impression. Like, didn't you listen to that?
Speaker 4I didn't realize it was ET Alecco. It's not Trish that narrates that one, though, is it. Is that why you don't recognize it? Yeah, I'm just confused. Don't listen to me.
Speaker 3Ashley just confused because what wasn't like last year? There was another podfic that did half of it. Yeah, you sent me it and they didn't finish it, and then ET Alecco finished it.
Speaker 1Yeah, and they finished it and it's good. Yeah, there was two different ones. Yeah, it was definitely Trish. I heard on his TikToks.
Speaker 4I will listen to anything that she reads.
Speaker 3She does a lot of Drake and Hermione fanfictions and they're great yeah.
Speaker 1Yeah, so she does the right thing to do.
Speaker 2Also, I can make or break an audiobook though. It really can yeah it makes a huge difference to whether or not I'll actually finish an audiobook.
Speaker 1And she's really good.
Speaker 2It is so true.
Speaker 1Actually, we had her on the podcast too. She's really good. We're just cool.
Speaker 4We're just collecting people. We're so cool.
Speaker 1Okay. Do you prefer hardback books or paperback?
Speaker 2Paperback any day.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2It is so hard, it's so annoying to read a hardback which sucks because they look better on a shelf technically.
Speaker 4They do look better. Yeah, they do.
Speaker 2They look so good, especially if you get a nice addition. They always make them a hardcover, but it's like I hate reading hardback books. It's just.
Speaker 1You're breaking it.
Speaker 2Yeah, I feel like I can just bend the paperback and it's fine, it's gonna bounce back. Yeah, it'll be okay. Go through the trauma with me, it's fine.
Speaker 1Are you more of a fiction reader or a nonfiction reader?
Speaker 2Fiction reader by far. I use Storygraph to keep track of my books. If you look at, they have a chart for nonfiction fiction and it is 100%.
Speaker 1It does. Say it with mine. I think it's pink is mine yeah it's all pink.
Speaker 2That's all I got. I think nonfiction is. If it's an interesting topic I'll pick it up, but I'll never If I'm at the bookstore I'm not gonna go to the nonfiction section. I just like the creativity of fiction. People come up with some crazy stuff.
Speaker 1And now you're a fan fiction reader. Yeah, fanfic.
Speaker 2It's a whole new category. It's the best kind of reader.
Speaker 4What's your favorite book of all time, though that's a question I meant to ask early.
Speaker 3Oh yeah, Outside of fan fiction.
Speaker 4Do you have a favorite?
Speaker 2Well, okay, favorite book of all time. My favorite book of all time was the Side of Paradise by F Scott Fitzgerald. For a very long time, however, I read the beginning of this year. I read Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow. Oh, I heard that was really good.
Speaker 2That's one that I think about a lot actually, and it's kind of stuck with me and it might have taken the spot, maybe Because that's one I actually I read it this year but I also want to read it again, which never happens with me. I'm like I think Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow might have taken the spot.
Speaker 1Yeah, I've heard.
Speaker 3I've heard really good things. It was like I got it for my book of the month. I haven't read it.
Speaker 4I've seen it at your house, Stacy.
Speaker 3Well, I collect books. I don't necessarily read them all, but it's the only reads fan fiction.
Speaker 4You could read this book in a day. I don't think it's half the size of Manicold.
Speaker 3I've heard so many great things about that book, though, yeah.
Speaker 2I highly recommend it. It's a solid read.
Speaker 3I'll read it tomorrow. I'll let you guys know, I'm just kidding. It would take me more than a day. It would take me more than a day. You read Manicold in three days. I had a problem.
Speaker 1Do you prefer standalone books or trilogies or duologies?
Speaker 2I actually prefer standalone. I think I like it when an author is kind of stretched to say a complete story in one book. If I had to, yeah, because sometimes with trilogies you always fall into the situation where it's like one book is bound to be worse than the other two. There's some reason. It's like that always kind of brings it down. For me, especially if it's the last book in a trilogy, then it's like it taints the fun of the book. For example, Hunger Games.
Speaker 2I loved the first two. I wasn't a big fan of Mockingjay and it's like I will never. I will never get back the first two books because I'm the biggest fan of Mockingjay, yeah.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah. Is it just because I don't have dies at the end?
Speaker 2Finnick.
Speaker 1I know.
Speaker 4I know I'm still upset about it. I'm not okay.
Speaker 3I swear when you said you didn't like Mockingjay. I bet it's because fucking Finnick died. It was like it ruined it for me too.
Speaker 4It ruined the whole book. What are the best characters? What are we even doing here? Why are we reading this?
Speaker 1It's not even it's Finnick, but it's also Primrose, it's like why.
Speaker 2Oh yeah, kill her.
Speaker 1That's all she was fighting for. That's all she was fighting for the whole time, and then she just fucking died.
Speaker 2The whole point.
Speaker 4When I tell you when Katniss is yelling at her cat after Primrose died, I was sobbing. I didn't cry when she died. I was sobbing when she was yelling at the cat because Primrose isn't there. I could cry right now thinking about it. I just I know.
Speaker 1I got some hurt feelings Gosh. We just did last month was the Ballad of Songbirds and. Snakes. It was our book of the month, and so we're in our Hunger Games feelings.
Speaker 2Yeah, I reread the trilogy so I could read Songbirds and Snakes this year. I read that one earlier this year.
Speaker 1So that brought to my mind as well, yeah.
Speaker 2I thought I haven't seen the movie. I don't really want to, but it's really good it's really good.
Speaker 4It's like the gasp.
Speaker 2Chanel. But I actually I did like the book. I liked it quite a bit and the more I think about it, the more I like it. It's like the more I think about how it ended and all that stuff and like it was pretty solid and like learning about how about like being in the capital in the first half of the book. I was so invested. I blew through that book very, very quickly. I was so intrigued by the world building.
Speaker 1So yeah, I like, I like.
Speaker 2Songbirds and Snakes.
Speaker 1Yeah, I think it was a good. You should watch it. It was a good adaptation. I mean, obviously they're going to not include everything because that book is huge, but it was. It was solid for.
Speaker 3It was solid, yeah For adaptation. It was really good. Yeah, yeah, I watch.
Speaker 2Yeah, my sister sings praises of it, and then she immediately stole Songbirds and Snakes from our bookshelf, so apparently it's a good movie.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, okay. Do you prefer sci-fi or fantasy as a genre to read?
Speaker 2Oh, this is a debate, I think I think fantasy overall it's easier for me to get into fantasy. I love sci-fi. I really enjoy it a lot, but it has to be a really good one in order to kind of pull me in. It's a lot easier to hook me with fantasy. If they don't. The author doesn't have to try as hard. I guess Only in with a good fantasy book. But it has to like be a really intriguing concept for sci-fi to kind of draw me in and make me not put it down.
Speaker 1Do you prefer books that make you cry or laugh?
Speaker 2I like this question. I think I think cry it's more impactful. I like I like looking back and being like, wow, that hurt me so much that I almost cried or that tears came out. It's like that's a, that's a serious punch to the guy. Yeah, I think. Yeah, I think I like those more.
Speaker 3Yeah, I love that. I think I think the same thing, like I like laughing in a book, but I feel like it's easier to make someone laugh to have such a physical, like crying or emotional reaction to a book. It's like I don't know. I love it. Yeah, that's my favorite too.
Speaker 2You guys are crazy. You get like the little exhale. Laugh when, like you read any book. Just like the little chuckle.
Speaker 1Yeah, like the, if a book can do both, if it can do both, that's like, yeah, five star, that's a good book. Yeah, I just want to laugh.
Speaker 3I actually, I just want to laugh.
Speaker 1She's like no crying here. Do you prefer a hero or a villain?
Speaker 2Oh, villain Easy 100%. I think there's so many. I think there's so much more complex.
Speaker 3Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, very for villain lovers over here too.
Speaker 2So, very nice.
Speaker 1Okay, just a couple more. Do you prefer plot driven books or character driven books?
Speaker 2I mean, if they can do both, great, I think. Character it's really cool to kind of get into the mindset of someone that you're reading about, especially if they're written well. And I think, since we're talking about radical, I loved getting in the head of Hermione, especially like during flashbacks and before the flashbacks, when she was just a prisoner and shouldn't remember anything. It's just so cool to kind of really get into the minds of people and like again, I mentioned this earlier but writing is so difficult. My wife is writing a fanfic right now and just the headspace that she has to get into to write characters in a believable way.
Speaker 2It's like I feel like that just takes so much effort and, if done well, it's like it's super rewarding to see a good character development.
Speaker 1Right. Yeah, I feel like that's why I really liked the ballad of songbirds and snakes. You get to see into Coriolanus' mind and I felt that was done really well. He's obviously a villain, but you see his story arc of how he becomes a villain. You don't start a villain Good, that dive into his mind. That was really really good.
Speaker 3Yeah, it's always impressive when someone can write such a good character Like they. Yeah, you can really. I loved Hermione's character in Manical 2, how I thought her character was like, because sometimes people say I think that, oh, maybe fanfiction would be so hard to write because the character, a lot of the character traits are there, but it can. It can also be harder because then people have this expectation. I think it was really great how, like the Prisoner Hermione flashbacks and then like how it merged together at the end. I thought it was really great, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1You're like well, where is this going? Like like Jay, you kind of said like when you started which I think is really, really good, which I felt, like everyone thought you're like how is it, how can we come back from this? You don't At the beach, ashley shut up you don't.
Speaker 3You don't.
Speaker 1Wait, I mean.
Speaker 1I mean because, literally, jay, you were like is this going to be Stockholm Syndrome Is this is this a Beauty and the Beast kind of thing, which I think that's kind of Stockholm Syndrome 2, but like you're like, how do you come back from being caged and now, you know, manacled and raped, sexually assaulted, and oh, but this is supposed to be a love story and it ends up, you know, and that's good writing, you know, and yeah, because it's like the fact that, like you're, you're with Hermione thrown into this situation, but by the end of it, you're, you're on the side of Draco too.
Speaker 3Oh yeah.
Speaker 2You know, we're Draco. I went through all that, that hell, but like, yeah, let's go. That's not easy to convince an audience to to really side with that kind of situation.
Speaker 1And I think it's so brilliant to do it through memory and flashback and I just I love it. I thought it was so brilliant and actually I started because I'm still I'm still in the mindset. Obviously you guys have had time to process, I'm still in this. So I was just like Googling I'm Googling everything about like Manichal right now and I started I was thinking about just the process of, of memory loss and amnesia and everything. And I came across someone use Tumblr page and how she kind of came up with this idea of Manichal, obviously, and doing the flashbacks. And this also came into my mind when I was reading. But have you guys seen? You know, my boy is Christopher Nolan. Have you seen?
Speaker 1One of his first movies was Memento and it's just, it's the story of a guy who has short term memory loss, amnesia, and so he he can't obviously remember anything. His wife is dead and he's trying to solve her murder, and so because he sorry, I shouldn't be laughing at some morbid because he can't remember anything he wakes up like every whatever 10, 15 minutes and he has to write down while he's trying to solve this murder. He's his clues to himself, he like writes it down and tattoos it on his body so that when he like wakes up every 15 minutes he's like her, you know, the, the, the guy who did it is named Fred or whatever. I'm like making up this stuff and he like tattoos on his body so that when he wakes up he's like Fred, okay, and then Fred lives here and her, you know, and like all the clues are on his body every 15 minutes so that he like knows like where to follow the next clue, right, so that he can trust himself. But he also can't trust himself because his memory goes and the people around him know that he has a bad memory. So they like manipulate him and use him and use that to their advantage. And so it it kind of Senlin Yu says this on her tumblr that she used part of that, that movie, like in an, an portion of this story, when Hermione, especially towards the end, can't trust herself with her memory, with Draco, when she's like you know, I, my memories are coming back, but like I can't trust you, know you, right now versus in the past, and blah, blah, blah, and I just thought it was really interesting where she's like kind of warring with herself Like I know, you did this terrible thing to me.
Speaker 1I know we had a relationship but like what do I trust? And I have to like write stuff down and anyway, I just thought it was a really interesting concept. I'm going so off base. We have to get back to Jay. Okay, last question Do you prefer romance books or thrillers?
Speaker 2I think thrillers, especially if it's psychological thrillers where it kind of messes with you and your perspective of things. I just think maybe I'm a dark person who knows I like being in that kind of headspace when reading. It gets super into it. So yeah, I would have to say I think thrillers would win out. I get recommended a lot of romance books now I bet I like romance.
Speaker 1They're like nope, you're going to like this now 90 degree turn.
Speaker 2Go that way. They're fun. I like romance books. I try not to block out any genre.
Speaker 1You're open to it.
Speaker 2Romance books that I've read this year?
Speaker 1Would you ever read Marauders Vic, now that people are comparing you to James Boner?
Speaker 4Because we got some recommendations.
Speaker 2I see my alter ego is yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1I was like I got a wreck Read Dead of Time. Oh my.
Speaker 4God.
Speaker 3Do you think Vanical's Big Dead of Time is like five books?
Speaker 4I know, but the audio book is so good. Oh yeah, there's an audio book.
Speaker 3Yeah, the audio book is really good.
Speaker 1But Dead of Time is more serious and remiss. You got to do all the young dudes, because that's all four of them. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Anyway.
Speaker 2I got so many reks. I got my whole next three years. Yeah, yeah, yeah, okay.
Speaker 1So our last thing is just Kudos Corner. So it's just things, that or one thing that you're thankful for this week or day or whatever. It's just because, obviously, you read on AO3. And if you really like a fic, you can just do a kid, a little kudos, and it's just a nice way to say that we like something. So we're just going to go around the horn and we'll save you for last Jay, if you have something that you are happy about this week. So, stacy, you can start it off.
Speaker 3Okay, well, my kudos, which we always copy each other with kudos. So this is my squad. I'm starting it. So obviously, my kudos is for Jay for taking the time to be on the show. I know it's well, I think it's early. I guess it's not like super early anymore, but whatever, we appreciate you being on your TikToks. We're hilarious. I'm so glad that Ashley found them. Yeah, it was definitely great. So, thank you. And also, I've just been with Ashlyn Chanel no, because I've listened to me complain all the time, but everyone in my house has been sick. I have a child and so he's like a germ factory and like I just want someone not to be sick in this house for like two days in a row. But anyway, ashley, I was at work yesterday and Ashley brought me tea. So kudos to Ashley, too, for bringing me tea and making this mild.
Speaker 1So yeah, that's super sweet. Yeah, made you feel better. Yeah, I did.
Speaker 4I got a sorry, I just got up that this is random. I got up this morning and I sent Stacy a RuPaul song because I was like getting amped up for this morning, and she just texted back she goes, I've been up since five. I was like oh, I'll just talk to you at 9 30, then Stop.
Speaker 3Dude.
Speaker 4Anyways, go on Chanel, but.
Speaker 3I do love that RuPaul song. Oh also, this is random, I know we're doing kudos, but I just wanted to throw this in here. Here's my kudos. You guys are going to kudos me. You're going to love this wreck. If you ever read Manacult again, read the flashbacks first. Do it in chronological order, and you will love Draco, Like you love them anymore when you read it. But if you do the flashbacks first and then you read it again, you're just like the poor man.
Speaker 4But anyway, that was like I emotionally could not read the spoke again Like it's a one and done for me. That's it yeah.
Speaker 1Jay's like I don't think I'm going to read it.
Speaker 2I think I need a six month break. Couple years Okay yeah.
Speaker 1No, yeah, my kudos is for Jay. Again, thank you for your tiktoks for getting me through this, through this thick. My other kudos is for Gordon Ramsay. He was the other one that got me through this.
Speaker 3You think Gordon Ramsay?
Speaker 1The chef. The chef, yeah, because after I finished Manacult I just binge watched Hell's Kitchen and that.
Speaker 3I can't, I don't even know what to say. Are you an idiot, sam, would you yeah?
Speaker 1So he gets my other kudos for this week because I needed some lightheartedness. So, jay and Gordon Ramsay, thank you.
Speaker 3It's the best kudos I've heard in a long time.
Speaker 4for me, so I have two as well. My first one's for you, Jay. Thanks for being on and hanging out with us weirdos this morning I really appreciate it.
Speaker 4My second one is for our younger sister, katie. We went to Harry Potter World last weekend for her 30th birthday and I decided I'm too old to hang out with her. I barely survived this trip. It was like we landed and we started drinking and we didn't stop drinking until we left and I was like I cannot do this alone again. Somebody else has to come with us to be in buffer You're so old she?
Speaker 3I know Ashley is old, Katie's so young.
Speaker 4We drank all night and then she wanted to drink around the world at Epcot. We almost threw up on the Ratatouille ride at like 9 am. I'm serious so, but my kudos is for her for her birthday. It was so much fun. I guess somebody else is going with me next time, because I can't do it. Shoot not me. It takes so much for being on. Jay. This is amazing yeah.
Speaker 1Okay, jay, do you have any kudos? No pressure.
Speaker 2Pressure is on Well, thanks for having me, guys. This has been actually a lot of fun, so I'll throw my kudos to you three. This has been pretty entertaining to relive Manicold and go through the pain again.
Speaker 3But yeah.
Speaker 2I'd say the other kudos would definitely be to my wife for actually, you know, motivating me and getting me to actually read the book. She's converted so many people. She's gotten a lot of our friends to read this book, wow.
Speaker 1Yeah, kudos to her, yes.
Speaker 3I love that. I love that you that you took her recommendation and read it. I think that's great. She sounds amazing, especially since we don't. When you said that she read One Direction fan fiction like middle school and high school, I was like me and Chanel and her would have been like friends Friends. It's just funny because when we started the show, ashley had an app. We were like we're going to do a fan fiction podcast and Ashley was like what's fan fiction? Like that's.
Speaker 1Well, like me and Stacy started in high school, like your wife did. But, I started with Twilight. What did you start with, stacy?
Speaker 3Harry Potter always. I've been drinking Hermione since I was 16.
Speaker 2Nice.
Speaker 1But we're OG, so yeah, we would have gotten along with your wife. Yeah, definitely, give her a kudos for us. So yeah, thank you so much for being on and yeah, after your next fanfic we will have to have you back, no matter what, it is no pressure, we won't judge you. We won't judge you.
Speaker 2I don't follow the curriculum that I got today. Yes, yes, those were just strongly rewarded recommendations.
Speaker 1So, yeah, thank you. And yeah, thank you everyone for listening. Yeah, thanks, it's great. Yeah, you.
